At anchor in Muskat (Muscat) Harbour. Wind calm with broken cloud. Barometer 30.18 inches rising to 30.20 at noon before falling to 30.14 at noon and finishing at 30.15 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 78F. 0400. Received 122 lbs of beef and 61 lbs of vegetables. Spread fires. 0630. Fidded top mast. 0755. Shortened in. 0805. Weighed. Proceeded as requisite for shifting berth. 0820. Came to with broken bottom in 5 fathoms and veered to 2 shackles. Let fires die out. 1400. Cleaning ship.  1600. Greased rigging screws.  Exercised boats under oars. . 1700. Quarters. 1730. SS Balochistan proceeded. Coal expended 2 tons 8 cwt. Number on sick list 6.
