At sea. Course N by W at 2.4 knots. Wind NE force 2 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.25 inches falling to 30.22 at 0800 before rising to 30.25 at noon. It fell again to 30.21 at 1600 before rising to 30.26 at 2000 and finished at 30.21 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 85F. 0015. Sounded in 100 fathoms. 0400. Sounded in 100 fathoms. 0750. Shaped course to N48W at 85 revolutions. 0900. Divisions and prayers. Put clock back 15 minutes. Ordinary Seamen and Boys at Morris Tube. Setting up rigging and as requisite. Noon. Position 2257N.5932E at 10 knots.  1300. Turned out cutter and steam cutter. 1400. Cleaned out sail room 1500. Lost overboard by accident one station guard. 1630. Altered course to NW by W. Connected steam wheel. 1700. Quarters. Observed RIMS Balochistan (?). 1730. Altered course as requisite for harbour. 1810. Came to in broken bottom and 8 ¾ fathoms in Muskat (Muscat) Harbour. Veered to 2 shackles. HMS Lapwing and Pidgeon and SS Balochistan (?) with prize crew at anchor. Let fires die out in 1 and 2 boilers Banked fires in number 3 boiler.  Distilling with number 4 boiler. Exercised starboard watch – man and arm ship.  Burnt search light. Coal expended 15 tons 3 cwt. Number on sick list 6.
