At anchor off Khor Hajar. Wind SSW force 2 with blue sky. Barometer 29.94 inches rising to 30.04 at noon before falling to 30.00 at 1600 and finishing at midnight at 30.02 inches. Temperature at noon 89F. Draught of water forward. 13 feet 9 inches. Aft 15 feet 9 inches. 0400. Lit fires and raised steam in two oilers. 0900. Weighed and proceeded as required.to close dhow. 0930. Mustered by divisions and read prayers. 1040. Stopped and examined dhow. 1100. Proceeded with port engines at 50 revolutions – 4 knots. Course SE by S ¼ S. Employed as requisite.  Noon. Wind calm. Position 22.40N 59.49E.  1400. Altered course to S ½ E at 3.5 knots. Training party at rifle drill. Employed variously. 1715. Mustered at Quarters Exercised at “Out collision mat” and “Pump out ship “etc. 1900. Washed clothes. Coal expended 7 tons. Number on sick list 14.
