Temperature at noon 77F.  0555. Weighed. 0600. French sloop Bouret sailed. Made number to HMS Agamemnon standing to starboard. 0620 Proceeded at 85 revolutions. 0700 Shaped to NE ½ E at 9 knots.0900. Observed HMS Pigeon on port bow. 0940. Altered course to NE ½ N. 0945. Mustered by Divisions and performed Divine Service. 1110. Stopped and came to in Chaki Chaki Bay with broken bottom in 10 fathoms and veered to 2 shackles. Anchorage bearings Papi Island N182. 3 Islets N62W. Banked fires in 2 boilers Let one boiler die out. 1115. HMS Pigeon anchored.1630. HMS Pigeon sailed. 1715. Mustered at Quarters. Coal expended 7 tons 19 cwt. Number on sick list 15.
