At single anchor in Aden Harbour.  Wind calm with broken cloud becoming ESE force 1. Barometer 30.03 inches falling to 29.92 at 2000 before finishing at 29.94 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 90F. 0400. Raise steam in cutter. 0640. RIMS Mayo arrives. 0700. 23 divers and two Leading hands commence diving. Received 116 lbs of fresh beef and 58 lbs of vegetables plus 150 lbs of bread.  0910 Italian gun vessel  Andrea Doria arrives. Employed as requisite. 1130 Italian sloop arrives. 1503. Native divers finish ship’s bottom. Gave special leave to port watch. Quarters. Discharged one Q. Signalman to HMS Bonaventure for passage (Invalid). 1925. Drew fires in cutter. Lost overboard – crutches, brass.  Coal expended 7 cwt. Number on sick list 2.
