At anchor at Hormuz. Wind ENE force 5 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.29 inches rising to 30.33 at 0800 and then falling to 30.28 at 2000 before finishing at 30. 32 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 61F. 0830. Shifted berth to 8 fathoms with pebble bottom and veered to 28 fathoms. Anchor bearings Fort W by S .Ruin SE by S.  Employed as requisite.  Noon. Wind east force 3 with broken cloud and mist. Employed running torpedoes from ship at anchor. 1600. Wind ESE force 1 with broken cloud. 1700. Quarters. 2200. Received 166 lbs of meat and 310 lbs of bread. Coal expended 2 tons 3 cwt. Number on sick list 14.
