Temperature at noon 87F.  0800. Light airs with broken cloud. Training Class at heavy gun drill. Remainder as requisite. Noon. Position 17.15 ½ N 66.13E. Course N78E at 9.8 knots. Altered course to N77E. 1300. As in forenoon. 1600. Wind north force 1 to 2 with broken cloud. Evening Quarters. Exercised – Fire Stations. Hose round pumps. 2000. Wind north force 1 with broken cloud. 2109. Watch – Man and arm boats. Expended ¼ yearly ammunition at target.  2120. Proceeded N77E at 78 revolutions. Coal expended 10 tons 4 cwt.
