At anchor in Muskat (Muscat) Harbour.  Wind calm with broken cloud. Barometer 30.12 inches rising to 30.18 at noon and finishing at 30.14 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 80F.  0400. Received 122 lbs of beef and 61lbs of vegetables.  0600. Stowed paint room. 0900. Coal lighter came alongside. 0915. Commenced coaling. Overhauling rigging screws. Blacking down rigging. 1450. Finished coaling. Received 90 tons.  Cleaning ship. Supplied PIGEON with provisions. Lieutenant W.R. G. Petre joined from HMS Pigeon.One Able Seaman and one SAP joined from PIGEON. Discharged Sub Lt. R.C.L Owen to PIGEON.  2355. HMS Pigeon proceeded. Coal expended 4 cwt. Number on sick list 6.
