At sea – Lamus to Kilifi. Course SW by S at 8.5 knots. Wind SW force 3 to 4 with broken cloud and a moderate swell. Barometer 30.25 inches rising to 30.30 at noon before falling to 30.20 inches at 2000 and finishing at midnight at 30.26 inches. Temperature at noon 85F.  0600. Altered course to West. 0610. Observed land on starboard beam. 0830 Altered course to WSW. 0930. Mustered by Divisions. 0950. Stopped and came to in Kilifi Harbour in 11 fathoms and veered to 2 ½ shackles. Banked fires in two boilers and let fires die in one boiler. Anchorage bearings Bluff 120 feet. S50W. South point of entrance S58E magnetic. 1130. Performed Divine Service. Noon. Wind SSW force 2.  PM. Boats searching for torpedoes returned to ship. 1715. Mustered at Quarters. Coal expended 13 tons 1 cwt.  Number on sick list 8.
