Barometer 30.20 inches rising to 30.22 at 0800 before dropping to 30.19 at noon and to 20.18 at 1600 before rising to 30.20 at 2000 and finishing at 30.24 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 78F.  0200. Received 126 lbs of beef and 65 lbs of vegetables plus 308 lbs of bread. 0800. Cleaning ship. Noon. Wind NW force2 with broken cloud. 1400. Commenced coaling. 1600. Coaling ship 2110. Ceased coaling – received 40 tons. Midnight distilling. Coal expended 5 ton 6 cwt. Number on sick list 9.
