At single anchor off Salala.  Wind calm with broken cloud becoming southerly force 1 to 2. Barometer 30.03 inches rising to 30.09 at noon before falling to 30.03 at 1600 and finishing at 30.05 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 82F.  0600. Man and arm boats. Carried out quarterly practice. Divisions and prayers. Exercised at General Quarters. Boarders and Collison Quarters. PM. Employed as requisite. Coal expended 1 ton 13 cwt. Number on sick list 2.
