At single anchor in Trincomalee Harbour. Wind calm with broken cloud. Barometer 29.93 inches rising to 30.00 at 0800 before finishing at 29.97 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 87F. 0400. Received 130 lbs of beef and 68 lbs of vegetables plus 234 lbs of bread. 0600. Divisions and prayers.  Provisioning ship. Read Warrant number 54. 1000.  Ordnance officials taking impressions of 7/02 —- (?) (Unable to read handwriting). Flagship proceeded out of harbour. General leave to starboard watch and Boys. Make and mend clothes1700. Quarters. Preparing for sea. One prisoner and two invalids joined for passage. Landed patrol. 2200. Raised steam in number 1, 3 and 4 boilers. Coal expended 4 cwt. Number on sick list 8.
