Barometer 30.15 inches rising to 30.19 at 0800 before falling to 30.16 at noon and then to 30.12 at 1600 before rising to 30.14 inches at 2000 where it finished at midnight. Temperature at noon 79F. 0400. Altered course to N60W. 0700. Course as requisite. 0720. Stopped. Came to with starboard anchor off Muscat harbour. . Veered to 3 ½ shackles. 0800. Wind NW force 1. 0915. Divisions. Employed as requisite. 1130. HMS Pigeon shifted berth. Marines at small arms drill. Noon. Wind SSE force 1. 1300. Draught 13 feet 6 inches forward. 15 feet 8 inches aft. 1600. Wind SE force 1. Quarters. 1700. Received 4 tons of water for washing.  2000. Wind calm.  Coal expended 6 tons 18 cwt.  Number on sick list 18.
