At anchor in Muskat (Muscat) Harbour. Wind NW force 1 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.07 inches rising to 30.12 at 0800 before falling to 30.05 inches at 1600 and finishing at 30.04 inches at midnight, Temperature at noon 81F. 0400. Raised steam in number 3 boiler. Aired bedding. Received 122 lbs of beef and 61 lbs of vegetables plus 195 lbs of bread. 0800. Wind SW force 1. Divisions and prayers. Employed as requisite.  Issued slopes to Ships Company. 1600. Make and mend clothes. 1700 Quarters.  Sent empty drums and shakes to PIGEON. (shakes – to take to pieces and pack up the parts; then called “shakes”). Prepared for sea.2030. Raised steam in number 1 and 4 boilers. Sub Lt. R. C. L. Owen rejoined from Pigeon. 1125. HMS Redbreast arrived and anchored. Distilling. Coal expended 2 tons 2 cwt. Number on sick list 9.
