At single anchor. Wind SW force 2 with broken cloud and passing showers. Barometer 29.80 inches rising to 29.84 inches at noon before falling to 2978 at 1600. Reading at midnight 2988 inches. Temperature at noon 81F.  0500. Washed clothes. Received 110 lbs of fresh beef and 46 lbs of vegetables. 0700 Transport WOODCOCK sailed. 0835. HMS Griffin anchored. Employed cleaning hold and provisioning etc. Marine detachment inspected by Marine officer from AGAMEMNON. 1130 German frigate Hupfasic?  (Unclear handwriting) (Flag) anchored. PM. German ship proceeded to  (?)  (Unclear handwriting.)  Employed storing hold. 1730 Steam cutter and gig returned. 2300. Lit fires and raised steam in two boilers. Coal expended 6cwt. Number on sick list 10.
