Altered course to WSW to examine dhow. 0705. Stopped. Lowered boat. 0745 Took dhow in tow. 0750. Proceeded at 90 revolutions on course N65W. 0800. Wind WSW force 6 with broken cloud and squalls. Altered course to N55W. 0950. Wind force 3. Hawser parted. Stopped. Remade tow. 1005. Proceeded at 80 revolutions. Employed as requisite .Noon. Wind WSW force 3 to 4 with broken cloud and squalls.  Eased to 40 revolutions. 1330. Cast off tow of dhow. 1400. Stopped in Main harbour Aden. Came to on sandy bottom. Secured stern to buoy. 1600. Wind SW force 2 to 3 with broken cloud.  1715. MARATHON weighed and proceeded.  1730. MARATHON anchored. REDBREAST weighed and proceeded. Draught forward 10 feet 2 inches. Aft 14 feet 10 inches.
