In Colombo Harbour moored head and stern.  Wind N by E force 2 with broken cloud becoming NNE force 4 at 1600 before easing to force 3 later. Barometer 30.06 inches rising to 30.11 at 0800 before falling to 30.03 at 1600 and finishing at 30.10 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 88F. 0600. Received 122 lbs of beef and 61 lbs of vegetables plus 230 lbs of bread. 0800. Lit fires in number 1, 2, and 4 boilers. 1000. Exercised Fire Quarters. Noon. Cleaning ship. 1600. Austrian cruiser Panther arrives.  Employed as requisite. 1700. Quarters. Special leave to starboard watch. Coal expended 4 tons 13 cwt. Number on sick list 3.
