Proceeded at 65 revolutions .1145. Shaped course to S72E. Noon. Wind east force 2 to 3. Course S72E. 1300. Port watch at cutlass drill and Quick Fire drill. 1430. Altered course to S36E. Employed as requisite. Lost overboard hand shackle and slip of ground chain. 1600. Wind ESE force 2 with smooth sea. Quarters. Exercised General Quarters. Carried out tube ??? (Unable to read handwriting) from 3 pounder and 6 inch guns.  1725. Altered course to S41E 1740. Eased to 45 revolutions. 2000. Wind ESE force 1.
