Temperature 57F at noon. Draught water forward13 feet 10 inches. Aft 15 feet 3inches. 0415 Lit fires in and raised steam in two boilers. 0800. Preparing for sea and as requisite. 1100 Slipped from buoy and proceeded out of harbour. 1130 Shaped course to SE by ½ E.  PM make and mend clothes. 1600 Mustered at Quarters. Read warrant number 7. Exercised at General Quarters. Expended 7 tons 10 cwt of coal. 10 persons on sick list.
