Draught of water forward 16 feet 2 inches. Aft 15 feet 9 inches. 0200. Lit fires and raised steam all boilers. O730. Weighed and proceeded out of harbour. 0800. Passed HMS Pigeon proceeding into harbour. 0900. Steaming and steering as requisite. 1000. Commenced 4 hour full steam trial – 12.8 knots. 1010. Mustered by divisions and read prayers. Exercised at General Quarters. 1140. Observed Pemba Island on Port beam. Small arms party at small arms drill. Noon Wind south force 2 with smooth sea. Observed HMS Algerine on port beam. Position 5.26S 39.27E. 1400. Finished time trails. 1520. Stopped and picked up cutter of Njao Gap. 1540. Proceeded to starboard. Training party at rifle drill. 1630. Observed HMS Agamemnon at anchor off Pemba Island. 1700. Observed HMS Algerine at anchor off Pemba Island. 1715. Mustered at Quarters. 1800.
