Altered course to NNE. 0700 altered course to SSW. 0800. Working engines and steaming as requisite for Lamu. 0900. Passed British India SS Mecca. Employed cleaning ship throughout. 1040. Communicated by boat with British India SS. Chanda. 1115. Proceeded for harbour. 1150. Stopped and came to Lamus harbour in 6 fathoms and veered to 2 ½ shackles. Anchorage bearings Minuet Shella N17W Pillar S71W magnetic, Noon. Banked fires. PM cleaning ship and as requisite. 1715 Mustered at Quarters. Coal expended 9 tons 18 cwt. Number on sick list 11.
