At anchor off Misali Island. Wind SSW force 1 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.21 inches rising to 30.26 at noon before falling to 30.22 at 1600 and finishing at 20.26 at midnight. Temperature at noon 80F. 0600. Weighed and proceeded to sea. Communicated with HMS Algerine. 0730. Shaped to SW 1/4S at 3.5 knots. 0930. Increased to 7.5 knots. Mustered by divisions and performed Divine Service. Noon. Wind SSW force 2 with squally rain. Position 6.45S 39.12E. 1215. Passed Italian despatch vessel RAPIDO standing to northward. Made number to HMS Reindeer ahead. 1540. Stopped and came to off Zanzibar in 10 fathoms and veered to 2 shackles. Banked fires in one boiler and let fires die out in one boiler.  Anchorage bearings Ras Shangani S10E Clock Tower S79E magnetic. Draught of water forward 12 feet. Aft 15 feet. Found here HMS Boadicea (Flag), HMS Stork, HMS Agamemnon; US corvette Swataia, Italian despatch vessel Staffeta; German corvette Corola and cruiser Schwalbe; French sloop Bouret.  1545. HMS Reindeer anchored. 1715. Mustered at Quarters. Coal expended 10 tons 14 cwt. Number on sick list 9.
