Temperatures 57Frising to 62F at 1600 before falling.  0345. Observed Gozo Light abeam. 0400 Course SE by E ½ E2.2 knots. 0715. Altered course to SE by S ½ E and increased to 80 Revolutions.  9.5 knots. Wind N by W. 0900. Made light to Palace Tower. 1000. Stopped and secured to buoy in Dockyard Creek. Let fires die out PM. 1130 Commenced coaling. Found here HMS Alexandra (Flag), BENBOW, COLOSSUS, SULTAN,   DREADNAUGHT, CARYSFOOT, POLYPHEMUS, DOLPHIN, ALACRITY, HIBERNIA (Flag),GANNET,  COCKATRICE,  ALBERCORE.  German frigates STORSH (Flag), CHARLOTTE, GNEISENAU, MOLTOKE and a Turkish corvette. 1700. Finished coaling. Paid monthly money to Ship’s Company.  Special leave to watch. Received 120lbs of fresh beef and 40lbs of fresh vegetables. Expended 6 tons 4 cwt of coal. Number on sick list 10.
