Barometer 29.63 inches rising to 29.70 at 0800 before falling to 69.65 at noon and to 29.63 at 1600 before rising to 29.65 at 2000 and finishing at 29.60 inches at midnight.  0500. Altered course to N63W. 0600. Hauled in Patent log. Put in steam steering gear. . 0630. Came to in 7 fathoms and veered to 2 shackles. Made stern fast ashore. Fort Jalali S22E. Al Jalali Fort, or Ash Sharqiya Fort, is a fort in the harbor of Old Muscat, Oman. The fort was built by the Portuguese under Philip I of Portugal in the 1580s to protect the harbor after Muscat had twice been sacked by Ottoman forces. It fell to Omani forces in 1650. Wikipedia
