Temperature at noon. 81F. 0430. Received 121 lbs of fresh beef and 57 lbs of vegetables plus 188 lbs of bread. 0600. HMS Redbreast sailed. 0730. HMS Lapwing relieved the Guard. Employed getting up starboard cable. 0930. Port watch at Chain Testing House and getting off port cable. Starboard watch cleaning paintwork and as requisite. Party testing electrical circuits. Lost overboard by accident 2 x hand hooks. 1330. Employed cleaning paintwork and getting in and storing port bower cable. 1740. Mustered at Quarters. Coal expended 4 cwt. Number on sick list 11.
