At number 5 buoy in Bombay Harbour.  Wind NE force 1 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.14 inches rising to 30.21 at  noon before falling to 30.12 at 1600 and finishing at midnight at 30.10 inches. Temperature at noon 80F. 0400. Steam up in cutter. Received 115 lbs of fresh beef and 54 lbs of vegetables plus 226 lbs of bread. 0800. Starboard watch cleaning fore p—- (?) (Unable to read handwriting) Port watch examining shell and getting up stocks. 1100. Tested lifebuoys and found correct. Noon. Wind calm. 1330. Cleaning shell room and as requisite. 1710. Mustered at Quarters. Scrubbed hammocks and washed clothes. Coal expended 7 cwt. Number on sick list 12.
