Barometer 30.05 inches rising to 30.11 at 0800 and to 30.10 at noon before dipping to 30.09 at 1600 and then rising to 30.15 at 2000 and finshing at 30.12 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon. 80F. Received 128 lbs of beef and 64 lbs of vegetables plus 260 lbs of bread. 0600. Divisions. Inspected arms. Captains of guns at rifle aiming.  Ordinary seamen under instruction. Employed as requisite.. Noon. Wind NE force 2 with broken cloud. F.G stationed at guns at 6 “ breech loaders. Ordinary seamen at seamanship. Employed as requisite.  1700.  Exercise man and arm ship. Coal expended 2 tons 6 cwt. Number on sick list 18.
