At anchor in Misuka Bay. Wind south force 2 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.19 inches  rising to 30.23 at noon before falling to 30.18 at 16000 and finishing at 30.22 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 76F.  0600. Weighed and proceeded at 80 revolutions. Course as requisite for Chaki Chaki Bay.  0700. Increased to 85 revolutions – 8.5 knots. 0900. Stopped to examine dhow. 0930. Proceeded. Mustered by Divisions and read prayers. Employed refitting awnings and as requisite. Training party at gun drill. 1000. Observed HMS Pigeon at anchor.  Noon. At entrance to Chaki Cchaki Bay. Wind SW force 3 with overcast skies. 1230. Stopped and came to in 12 fathoms off Pemba Island. Veered to 3 shackles. Let fires die out in two boilers.  Anchorage bearings. (Place of bearings unreadable)  N17E.  South extent of Funzi Island N88W. Communicated with and provisioned boats from AGAMEMNON and TURQUOISE. Employed as requisite. Training party at gun drill. 1645. HMS Pigeon sailed. 1715. Mustered at Quarters. Read Warrant number 15. Draught of water forward 12 feet. Aft 14 feet 10 inches. Coal expended 8 tons 10 cwt. 39 tons 5 cwt remaining. Number on sick list 11.
