At anchor in Chaki Chaki Bay. Wind south force 1 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.24 rising to 30.30 at noon before falling to 30.32 inches at 1600 and finishing at 30.28 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 77F. 0430. Washed clothes. 0910 Mustered by Divisions and read prayers. Port Watch and Marines guns crews fusing cartridge tube from 6inch B.L. and Quick Firing guns. 1100. Employed as requisite. Noon. Wind SSW force 2 to 3 squally with passing showers. 1345. Observed HMS Arginine to westward. Employed as requisite. Watch firing 5 barrel Nordinfelt at target.  HMS Arginine anchored off Misali Island. 1650. Weighed and proceed to communicate with ARGININE.  1715. Mustered at Quarters. 1810. Stopped and came to off Misali Island. 1850. Weighed and proceeded at 55 revolutions – 5.6 knots. 2010. Shaped to N by E ½ E.

Expended for cannon tube – 340 x S.A ball M.H. rifle.  400 x cartridge M.G. ball for .45 Nordenfelt.
