Barometer 30.20 inches rising to 30.24 at noon before falling to 30.15 at 160 and finishing at 30.21 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 80F.0630. Weighed and proceeded out of harbour at 80 revolutions – 8 knots. Course E by N ¼ N. 0700. Altered course to NE. 0930. Mustered by Divisions and read prayers. Employed as requisite. Training party at cutlass drill.  Position at noon 2.34S 40.46E. 1315. Reduced to 65 revolutions. Training party at cutlass drill employed as requisite. 1450 Stopped and came to in Lamus Harbour with broken bottom in 6 ½ fathoms. Let go on sandy bottom and moored with two shackles on each. Position when moored Minaret Shella N40W Pillar S66W 1600. Banked fires. Cutter and dinghy returned. 1715. Mustered at Quarters. Coal expended 11 tons 17 cwt. Number on sick list 9.
