Temperature at noon 84F.  0300 Received 140 lbs of fresh meat. 0730 Weighed; working engines as required. 0800 Proceeded at 65 revolutions and shaped course to east. 0815. Altered course to NE ½ E at 5 knots. 0930 Mustered by Divisions and read prayers. Employed as requisite. Ordinary Seamen of watch at seamanship instruction. Position at noon 2.53S 40.53E. 1400 Altered course to NE ½ N. make and mend clothes. 1600. Wind SE force 2. Issued clothing to Ship’s company. 1700. Mustered at Quarters. 1730. Stopped and came to in Ramus Harbour with broken bottom in 6 fathoms. Veered to 2 shackles. Banked fires. Communicated with boats on blockade. Draught of water forward 12 feet 6 inches. Aft 15 feet 9 inches. Bearings at Anchorage. Pillar S75W Minaret N35W magnetic. Coal expended 10 tons 2 cwt. Number on sick list 7.
