Sent steam cutters and whalers to cruise in western channel. 0800. MARINER relieved the Guard. 0900. Employed coaling ship. PM. Party at pistol drill. Exercised firing pistols at target. 1440. Arrived HMS Reindeer. Coaling ship. 1715. HMS Turquoise sailed. 1740 HMS Reindeer shifted berth. Expended 480 Enfield pistol cartridges. Coal expended 5 tons 3 cwt. Number on sick list 11.
