Moored in Outer Harbour Aden. Wind NE force 1 with broken cloud. Barometer 29.74 inches rising to 29.77 at 0800 before falling to 29.69 at 1600 and finishing at 29.68 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 89F.  0200. Received 122 lbs of fresh beef and 61 lbs of vegetables plus 132 lbs of soft bread. 0600. Exercised General Quarters.  Fire station posts, 0800. Divers cleaning ship’s bottom. Hands employed painting nettings. 1050. Divisions and prayers.  Hand employed cleaning ship. Noon. SSE force 2 to 3. 1400. Hands employed scrubbing small gear and as requisite. Divers cleaning ship’s bottom. 1600. Gave Special leave to port watch until 060 (11th). 1700. Quarters. Exercised boats away under oar and sail. Hands scrubbing and washing clothes. Coal expended 5 cwt. Number on sick list 6.
