At single anchor in Aden Harbour.  Wind ESE force 2 to 4 with broken cloud and occasional squalls. Barometer 30.04 inches rising to 30.14 at noon and finishing at 30.07 inches at midnight. Temperature at noon 88F (94 F at 1600). 0400. Raised steam in cutter. Received 108 lbs of fresh beef and 54 lbs of vegetables plus 120 lbs of bread. HMS Elgar sailed. Watered ship. 0800. Divisions and prayers. Employed as requisite. 1700. Quarters. General leave to port watch. One Q.S prisoner from cells.  1930. Drew fires in cutter. Coal expended 7 cwt. Number on sick list 3.
