At buoy in Bombay Harbour. Wind NW force 3 with broken cloud. Barometer 30.04 inches rising to 30.11 at  0800 before falling to 30.00 at 1600 and finishing at midnight at 30.09 inches. Temperature at noon 78F. 0430. Received 115 lbs of fresh beef and 60 lbs of vegetables plus 222 lbs of bread. 0900. Divisions and prayers. Discharged senior Piper Boatswain to MAGADAL. 1000. R.N.I.S. Clive arrived. 1100.  Employed preparing for sea and as requisite. Noon. Wind west force 1. 1215. Lit fires in two boilers. 1400. Employed drawing stores and preparing for sea. 1500. Lit fires in number 3 boiler.  1600. Four men joined from hospital. 1710. Quarters.  1800. Slipped from buoy and proceeded out of harbour and shaped S 76 W at 75 revolutions. 2030. Connected hand wheel. 0915. Lost sight of P—(?) (Writing smudged) Light. 0930. Connected up number three boiler. Exercised seaboats crews and watch close watertight doors. Coal expended 7 tons 8 cwt.
